We all know birth is hard on mom, but did we ever consider what the baby goes through?

First the baby is squeezed periodically from contractions. Then, they have to get pushed and squeezed down the birth canal. Once they make it to the outer world, there is often a doctor there ready to grab their head and twist and pull them out. No wonder babies cry when they’re born!

In 1992 a German MD, Heiner Biedermann, came up with KISS syndrome. KISS syndrome is the stress undergone by the cervical (neck) spine during childbirth. He stated that KISS syndrome could have consequences to the child’s developing nervous system.
