Can Pediatric Chiropractic Help Bedwetting?
Can chiropractic help bedwetting?
Woodland Hills chiropractor, Dr. Andrea Mills, on bedwetting and chiropractic care.
When older children wet the bed, it is frustrating for the whole family. The parents are tired and have mounds of laundry. The kids are embarrassed. Sleepovers are scary. If this goes on for years, eventually mom or dad may ask, “can chiropractic help bedwetting?”
If your child still wets the bed, consider pediatric chiropractic as one possible solution.
The brain controls the body. It sends messages down the spine and across spinal nerves to control our body functions. Slight misalignments in the spine can put pressure on nerves and interfere with the messages from the brain to the body. These misalignments are called subluxations.
Subluxation affects how the body functions. If the messages from the brain aren’t getting to the bladder and the sphincters that control it, it is possible that a child’s will have poor control of their bladder and may wet the bed, even as they get older.
A chiropractor is trained to find subluxations. Using gentle adjusting techniques, the pediatric chiropractor will adjust the bone off the nerve, allowing the messages to the body to flow freely. This is how chiropractic care restores physiology.
If your older child wets the bed, call us. Dr. Mills is happy to answer all your questions about care and if chiropractic helps bedwetting.
